Ice Navigation Training

DELTA has extensive experience of the harsh environment in the Baltic Sea through the operation of Aframax vessels in the area.  As a result DELTA's bridge officers have extensive practical experience of ice navigation.

To enhance this experience, DELTA has established a close relationship with Makarov Marine Academy in St. Petersburg to provide Ice Navigation Training to its senior officers.

Eleven Masters, Chief Officers and Port Captains have attended courses at the Makarov Academy from 5-10 November 2007 and 28 January-2 February 2008.  This training will continue with senior officers attending in rotation.
